The shoulder joint model with ligaments from Erler-Zimmer is a natural cast of the human shoulder joint and comprises the shoulder girdle made up of the scapula and clavicle with an upper arm stump. The most important ligaments are depicted, such as the ligamentum coracoacromiale, the ligamentum coracohumerale and the ligamentum transversum scapulae, as well as sections of the joint capsule. This makes the ligamentous apparatus around the joint visible on the object. The model stands on a removable stand.

Physiotherapy, education and medical practices use the shoulder joint model to explain the structure and range of motion of the shoulder. The model can be used to demonstrate anteversion and retroversion, external and internal rotation as well as abduction, which is helpful for discussing findings and for teaching.

  • Natural cast of the shoulder joint with scapula, clavicle and upper arm stump
  • Important ligaments depicted: ligamentum coracoacromiale, coracohumerale and transversum scapulae
  • Sections of the joint capsule make the capsular-ligamentous apparatus visible
  • Anteversion, retroversion, rotation and abduction can be demonstrated
  • Removable stand for unobstructed viewing or display
  • Handy format of around 16 by 13 by 18.5 centimetres

For the study of movement, it is crucial that the main movements of the shoulder can be followed directly on the object rather than merely described. The stand can be removed so that the joint can be picked up and viewed from any direction. The depicted ligaments of the capsular-ligamentous apparatus help to explain the stability and guidance of the joint.

saneq supplies the Erler-Zimmer shoulder joint model for training institutions and practices in Switzerland.
