The Anatomy of the Hand model by Erler-Zimmer is a life-size, 7-part anatomical model with a high level of detail. The superficial layers can be removed in several stages, revealing the underlying structures. It depicts muscles, blood vessels, nerves, tendons, ligaments and bones. This makes the layered structure of the hand comprehensible on the anatomical hand model.

The model is used in education, occupational therapy and patient consultation whenever the structure of the hand needs to be explained beyond pure bone anatomy. The step-by-step disassembly allows individual tissue layers to be discussed in a targeted manner. At around 0.5 kg and a height of about 23 cm, it remains handy on the table.

  • life-size anatomical hand model, dismantles into 7 parts
  • superficial layers removable in several stages
  • muscles, blood vessels and nerves depicted
  • tendons, ligaments and bones of the hand visible
  • dimensions around 11 x 13 x 23 cm, weight about 0.5 kg
  • shows the layered structure from the surface down to the bone

A multi-part layered model is suitable when soft tissues and bones are to be shown in context, whereas a hand skeleton depicts the bone structure alone and a ligament model emphasises the ligamentous guidance. For anatomical teaching with a focus on muscles, tendons and nerves, the dismantlable version is the more comprehensive choice. The individual parts can be removed one after another for explanation.
