Pelvis models are anatomical teaching aids used primarily in medical education, physiotherapy and obstetrics. They provide a clear understanding of the complex pelvic structure, including bones, ligaments, nerves and musculature. The models are usually detailed and, depending on the version, can depict various parts of the pelvis as well as adjacent structures such as lumbar vertebrae or femoral stumps.
Typical pelvis models are generally multi-part and offer a realistic representation of the female pelvis. Variants with a flexible design or magnetic connections make it easier to demonstrate movements and anatomical relationships. Special models show the pelvic floor including the musculature and are particularly suitable for physiotherapy or obstetrics. Mini pelvis models or models of a child's pelvis complement the range and offer additional applications.
When selecting a pelvis model, attention should be paid to the level of detail, the number of parts and the structures depicted. The brand erler-zimmer is known for high-quality anatomical models that are distinguished by robust construction and realistic representation. Pelvis models are valuable aids for teaching, consultation and demonstration in medical and therapeutic settings.
