The female pelvic floor model from Erler-Zimmer depicts the pelvic floor in its individual muscle layers. It comprises a female pelvis with both pelvic halves, the sacrum and the reconstructed pelvic floor musculature, and consists of 12 parts in total. The muscles are fixed with pins and can be removed individually, so the layers become visible one after another. This makes the spatial arrangement of the pelvic floor musculature clear.
The model is used in pelvic floor exercise courses, antenatal preparation and midwifery training. Physiotherapists, midwives and course leaders use it to explain the structure and function of the pelvic floor to patients, including in postnatal recovery and continence training.
- Female pelvis with layered pelvic floor musculature
- 12 parts, including pelvic halves and sacrum
- Muscles held by pins and individually removable
- Shows the layered arrangement of the musculature
- Compact dimensions of about 27 by 18 by 17 cm
- Suitable as a teaching aid for courses and patient talks
For group demonstrations, the layer-by-layer disassembly is the decisive advantage, as deep and superficial muscles can be shown separately. The compact format makes it easy to move between course room and practice. Anyone needing only the bony pelvic shape is better served by a plain pelvis model; for work on the pelvic floor, this model is tailored to the task.
The Erler-Zimmer female pelvic floor model is available from saneq for therapy and training.
