The Sponser Recovery Drink is a beverage with carbohydrates and protein for the phase directly after exertion. Proteins contribute to the maintenance of muscle mass. Its fruity strawberry-banana flavour makes it a pleasant way to finish a training session or competition.
The Recovery Drink is used after training or competition to supply carbohydrates and protein. After intensive and very prolonged physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and the depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscle, carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction). The beneficial effect is obtained with a total intake of 4 g of carbohydrates per kg of body weight from all sources, in separate doses within the first 4 hours and no later than 6 hours after the end of this very intensive and very prolonged physical exercise. For adults who have thereby depleted their muscles and glycogen stores in skeletal muscle.
