The flexible spine from Erler-Zimmer is a life-size, didactically structured spinal column model with colour-differentiated sections. It shows the occipital bone, the cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, the sacrum, the coccyx and the complete pelvis. Because the spine is flexible, the natural curvature and the mobility of the individual sections can be shown clearly. The colour coding of the segments makes it easier to find one's bearings during teaching.

The model is used in physiotherapy, in training and in patient consultation, for instance to explain posture, discs and nerve exits. It includes the vertebral arteries, the spinal nerves and a herniated disc at the L3/L4 level. The link between disc, nerve and clinical picture can thus be shown directly on the object.

  • life-size flexible spine with natural curvature
  • occipital bone, cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, sacrum and coccyx
  • complete pelvis on the model
  • vertebral arteries and spinal nerves depicted
  • herniated disc at the L3/L4 level for demonstration
  • segments colour-coded for identification

The didactic version with colour-differentiated sections is particularly suited to teaching and consultation, where the segments need to be named quickly. If the model is often presented hanging or the transition to the femur should be shown, a variant with a stand and femoral heads makes sense. For teaching the basics of spinal anatomy, this version is a solid foundation.

You will find this spinal column model at saneq, your specialist supplier of practice equipment in Switzerland.
